My name is Daniel (well, you knew that already), I’m a 22 year old Albanian, and I thank you for stopping by to learn more about me! I have organized this page in an interview-like fashion, with questions that uncover different aspects about myself.

What are your skills?

I like to mirror polish snail shells. Oh, development skills, you say? While most of my time is spent writing code that relates to existing frameworks, I would say my biggest skill is my love for researching. A developer can have any number of languages under their belt, but what keeps any engineer going is the constant need for the improvement and extension of one’s knowledge.

Most of the applications I’ve written are backend applications of different architectures, mainly monolithic or microservices. I find making such applications a breeze so I’m often challenging myself to larger and more complicated projects.

Outside of the programming slice, I like to communicate first-hand with everyone in my team to the best of my ability as I think that it can be quite productive.

What languages do you write software in?

I’m not a picky individual and can probably write code in any language given a little time to familiarize with the environment. However, my daily experience and trust in my skills lies with these languages:

I have a tad of experience in and would like to learn more:

What topics of programming interest you the most?

One of the biggest areas I’ve spent many hours researching has been Reactive Programming, about which I’ve mainly engaged with Spring WebFlux using Project Reactor, RxJava and RxJS. However, I’ve found interest in some more obsure Reactive languages that gave birth to today’s Reactive paradigm, like FlapJax or FRAN.

Tell us something you’d like to improve in yourself.

My knowledge about Frontend Development is my weakest point. The only framework I’m familiar with is Vue.js for Web, and Jetpack Compose for mobile, so I’m continuously looking forward to earning some experience in the field. Since Reactive Programming paradigms fit amply in a frontend model, however, I sometimes wonder why I’ve postponed learning some frontend so frequently.

Do you have any interesting facts about yourself you’d like to share?

Despite my chair-bound profession, I am an outdoor person that loves to go hiking, do yoga daily and explore nature. Art & Animation also interest me and I often dabble into making graphics for humorous imagery, or create small video projects.

Old, obscure cartoons and music are the fuels that enhance my passion for work. Dream Theater, Local H and MF DOOM are some of my favorite artists, who you should definitely take a listen at!
